Employer Voices at the Table

To create innovative employer solutions for immigrant talent to meet labour force needs now and in the future, IEC-BC consults with an Employer Advisory Group (EAG).

The EAG convenes HR professionals, hiring managers, business leaders, and established professionals to shape future IEC-BC programs, improve current offerings, and relay key employer needs and labour market conditions.

The EAG also develops recommendations for governments to improve immigrant workforce integration.

1,200+

employer voices from 100+ engagements helped shape future immigration programs.

88%

of mentees secured full-time employment through MentorConnect.

Member Testimonials

I always leave with some fresh ideas on how to improve my business and I am able to feed that back into the discussions. This becomes a part of the learning and discovery for the IEC-BC team, which they are then able to craft into a program which directly benefits me as an employer along with thousands of newcomers as they enter the Canadian workforce.

EAG Member, from the tech industry

When you’re new to Canada, you bring the skills, the experience, the education — but sometimes you just don’t know where to start. Mentor Connect bridges that gap. By pairing newcomers with established professionals, the program opens doors, builds networks, and helps unlock real career opportunities.

Anshul Modi, IEC-BC

We have held two Connections Events with IEC-BC, helping us develop our pipeline for hard to find technical talent. We have successfully hired two candidates from this program and look forward to continuing our partnership with IEC-BC.

Diana Cooper, Quartech

Volunteering as a mentor with IEC-BC has been incredibly rewarding, giving me the opportunity to give back to my community in a meaningful way and helping newcomers navigate their career journeys. Beyond making a difference in someone’s life, it has also helped me grow as a leader in Human Resources.

Kayla Ngo, Fairmont Pacific Rim

Hiring new Canadians has changed how we design our business. We now have specific sections for Brazilian, German, and Jamaican food [in our store], all because we hire people that came from around the world, and when you create this connection, it’s a real win-win for the business itself.
